Recent Roles

In November 2021, Kara played Plainman, Mistress, and Woman 2 in a 1960's style production of The Frolicks. To our knowledge, this was the first full production of this newly re-discovered early-modern play by Elizabeth Polwheel. This Mary Baldwin University production was directed by Sara Hymes and Greg Phelps. Kara was thrilled to assistant direct this production, play music and sing in 3 songs, and work on the publicity and marketing team. Here is a link to The Frolicks program. In February 2021, Kara played Beatrice and Benedick from Much Ado About Nothing and Valentine from Two Gentlemen of Verona in this MBU second year showcase production of Unsex Me Here. This show was written and directed by Haley Davis as part of her MLITT Thesis, which focused on female-identifying actors playing roles that are typically played by men.

Kara played Beatrice from Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Rachel Louis, and Dumaine from Love's Labors Lost, directed by Katelyn Spurgin, in MBU's Shakespeare & Performance Fall 2020 Graduate Directing Scene Showcase.
